Summary: | The purpose of this study is to know the improvement student's mathematical power. In order to reach the purpose, the instruction started with the teacher giving word problems. The data were collected by the use written test, field observation record, documentation, student's questioner and student's daily journal. The research results showed that by giving word problems in the beginning of instruction, student's mathematical power could be improved. The improvement of the way of the student's learning could be seen from the improvement of anthusiastic and their working together in group learning. From field observation record, documentation, student's questionnaire and student's daily journal could be seen that the students happy and enjoy the learning. Therefore, in order to improve the student's activity, creativity and productivity, giving word problems in the beginning of instruction can be given in teaching. |
