Description
Summary:The multimedia and programming techniques development has influenced academicians to develop new dicatic learn and study methodologies. Designing virtual experiments is an attempt to bring the real experiment processes into virtual world, so that it can minimize the real experiments' boundaries., such as limited resources (tools and human), time, place, etc.
This paper will explain about stages of designing, developing and testing of virtual experiment system (VES) for robot manipulator. The system combines virtual experiment and remote experiment concepts. The remote experiment concept is practiced by developing a remote control access to the real robot (PUMA 260). The VES consists of software and hardware which support virtual based experiments. The software manages experiment’s administration, virtual experiment environment, and real robot control via serial port and local area network. The software system is called a robot simulator for learning and designing (Simulator Robot Manipulator Untuk Pembelajaran dan Perancangan-SIRUPP), which is a desktop application using a client server paradigm and 3D simulation. The hardware is designed to support multi user access and remote real robot controller.
