Description
Summary:Sea surface temperature is an important parameter in fishery, meteorology and climatology . This parameter can be used as indicator to locate the upwelling areas, in which usually content the rich of ocean resources. In this Thesis, Deschamp & Phulpin method is applied in the sea surface temperature determination by using NOAA-I1 satellite data. The data is the Makassar strait area data of May 30, 1992, August 30, 1992, and September 15, 1992. The result of this derived temperature describes the sea water condition in Makassar strait. The temperature distribution is between 24°C - 27°C. Based on the data of August 30, 1992, it is interpreted that the upwelling process was occured in the western part of Southern Sulawesi coastal area
