| Summary: | Alteration of theophylline concentration in central and peripheral compartments in white male rabbits were studied. After intravenouos administration of theophylline, the pharmacokinetic profile of theophylline followed two-op en compprtment model. The concentration versus time curve from peripheral compartment was similar to those obtained from organs. These curves indicated that bronchus and tissue were slowly equilibrating tissue (SET), while the heart and the liver were rapidly epuilibrating tissue (RET). Serum theophylline level was analyzed by spectra-photometry and theophylline concentration in organ and tissues by high performance liquid chromatography at 280 nm using acetate buffer solution of pH 4.8 acetonitrile as mobile phase. |
