Summary: | Indonesia waters are Territorial Sea that is 12 nm in width measured from the archipelagic baseline, Archipelagic Waters, and Internal Waters. Beyond the limit of 12 nm there are Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of Indonesia, Indonesia Continental Shelf, and High Seas. At this time, the policies on these seas are not strictly regulated yet. The limits of the sea utilization are also do not have the legal certainty compared to the policies on land. Therefore, marine cadastre is needed to manage the sea parcels in purpose for a good administration. Identification of the marine cadastre objects is necessary as it is the first step of marine cadastre process. This identification is related to rights, responsibilities, and restrictions of marine cadastre objects. Identification of marine cadastre objects involve national jurisdiction boundaries including Exclusive Economic Zone and Continental Shelf, and area based on utilization including oil, gas, and mineral resources, fishery, shipping, and seabed pipelines and cables. |
