Along with many applications, delay-sensitive applications such as VoIP may get dissapointing QoS. To maintain QoS of VoIP applications, one method is to use a queue discipline which enables the estabilishment of certain services but not burdening QoS of other applications. Comlabs ITB is one of the computer network in ITB that has high convergence of applications. In this final project, G.711 VoIP application running on Comlabs network use OPNET simulation program. By using certain queuing disciplines such as FIFO, CBWFQ, LLQ, and CQ, VoIP application is expected to obtain the satisfiying QoS such as delay, dropped data, and jitter. The parameters used for the FIFO queue is the length of the buffer, while for CBWFQ, LLQ, and CQ is the speed of service rate. The simulation results show that LLQ provide the best QoS because in addition to giving strict priority to the VoIP application, LLQ will only spend a certain service rate at the congested state so that other applications do not run out of service rate. CBWFQ provides worse QoS than LLQ because CBWFQ do not guarantee maximum service rate. CQ provides worse QoS than CBWFQ because setting of service rate is configured based on byte count that depends on the length of the packet. Because the packet length varies, the service rate obtained can not be predicted well. FIFO provides worst QoS of all queuing discipline because FIFO does not divide queue into certain classes so the QoS of VoIP applications can not be maintained at all times. text
