Description
Summary:Gas turbine used in a factory is demanded to work as optimum as possible. Therefore, the comprehension for operating and maintaining gas turbine is needed to get high availability and reliability. If a failure occurs, the failure analysis is needed to seek causes of failure in order to prevent the same failure. Reliability analysis was done to know whether operation and maintenance of GTG Kujang 1B were well-executed or not. Before doing calculations of gas turbine’s reliability parameters, downtimes are classified into two types of time (shutdown time and breakdown time) in order to get the more accurate calculation result of reliability parameters. The failure of GTG was triggered by the damage occured on the components of the first stage turbine. Nozzle suffered from creep because it worked at high temperature. Creep accompanied by very frequent shutdown/breakdown led blade suffered from fatigue. A solution to prevent GTG from failure is doing reliability centered maintenance (RCM). RCM can predict failure earlier so that catasthropic failure can be prevented.
