Description
Summary:Risk assessment has to be done with consideration of some aspects such as operation, material, environment, financial, operator, etc. This task is done in purpose to prevent failures or damages within the system. These damages can affect seriously to safety and environment, caused by blasting or toxic leakage, and also financial losses caused by operation stoped.

Analysis and calculation was done in order to find the risk level in reference by API 581 Appendix O Code Risk Based Inspection for Aboveground Storage Tanks for Process and Oil & Gas Equipments. The case studies were main tanks

in Oil Treating Plant CGS 10 Duri. There were 7 tanks to be analyzed with 3 type of tanks, which were FWKO Tank, Wash Tank, and Shipping Tank. The purpose of risk calculations is to get the risk level in the studied equipments. To simplify the calculation, a calculation sheet was developed that the data could be calculated accurately.

Risk level result in these tanks was categorized in Medium-High, with the highest category for likelihood of failure. Risk for FWKO Tank is 44,076.95 dollar/year, Wash Tank is $15,498.72/year, and Shipping Tank is $12,263.10/year. From the parameter studies we can conclude that with increasing corrosion rate and tank volume will increase the risk, and in the other hand, increasing inspection level will decrease the risk.
