In a construction project, workers are resources that are directly related to the implementation of the job, so workers have a big share in the completion of the project and at the same time as the determinant whether the project will meet the highest standards of quality as specified. Groups of workers working in accordance with sub-field and expertise of work, they usually carry and is headed by someone known as a foreman. In general, the position of foreman in the structure of the labor organization in a project is under the contractor executing structure. As the leader of workers, foreman role as first-line managers in which he directly oversees the workers and has no other managers as subordinates. Foreman has direct contracts with contractors and workers, he played the role as "the middle man" between the contractors and workers. This role requires the foreman has the capability of communication and liaison between contractors and workers. Information and instructions given by the contractor must be forwarded to the level of workers, and then workers who make it happen in the form of the final results of work in accordance with what is expected by the contractor. Because of the importance of the foreman and so far there is no extensive studies about the foreman yet, it is necessary to dig more deeply about the picture of the role and functions of the organization of labor foreman in a construction project. This research aims to identify and learn more about the picture of the role and functions of foreman in the organization of labor in a construction project. Moreover, this research is also expected to provide information how appropriate roles and functions, judged from the level of the contractor's satisfaction to the role and function played by the foreman in the context of construction project success. The method of collecting data is to conduct a survey to building construction projects that is in progress. The process of collecting data is done in two stages. The first stage is called a preliminary survey by conducting interviews to the contractor and foreman. The second phase is continued by conducting a survey questionnaires and interviews to the contractors and foremen. The research shows that contractor and foreman already have the same perseption about roles and functions of a foreman at a construction project. However, in general the contractor's level of satisfaction that run by foreman is still on the level of satisfaction "quite satisfactory". Contractor has high expectations to the foreman to run the informational role.
