Description
Summary:Kelesa Formation in Eocene-Early Oligocene age is source rocks that have an important role in the presence of hydrocarbons in the Central Sumatra Basin. Currently Kelesa Formation is new targets in the exploration activities that are expected to act as a reservoir rock. Kelesa Formation has unconformity contact at its top and bottom, bottom with a pre-Tertiary basement rocks, and the top with Lakat Formation. Unconformity in Kelesa Formation at its top formation indicates tectonic events that led to Kelesa Formation missing in some places.

There is a pattern of north-south trending structure that Eocene-Oligocene as the first in the history of the formation of structure in the central Sumatra basin. Gravity anomaly patterns in the study area show two dominant directions are north-south and northwest-southeast. Value of the low gravity anomaly elongated

northwest-southeast direction separated by a gravity anomaly values were high in the middle of the study area. Borehole data shows the presence of Kelesa Formation in the study area bounded by a line trending north-south. Gravity data modeling and interpretation results that distribution of Kelesa Formation are at high and depression geometry. The Edge of Kelesa Formation distribution has north-south direction marked by the absence of Kelesa Formation above the pre Tertiary basement rocks may be indicated as High or the edge of depression geometry in Eocene-Oligocene age, and the edge of Kelesa Formation distribution has southeast-northwest direction is fault plane.
