| Summary: | The development of robotic and informatic technology today had caused sensorbased control system grows rapidly. One of its application is in machine reading where a machine can read as human read. For example, a machine that can read character in an image. In this final project, the author developed one of the implementation of machine reading in image based numerical character recognition by using perceptron algorithm, a model in artificial neural network. This system combined image processing technique and artificial intelligence approach through four main steps: preprocessing, segmentation, extraction and recognition, and post postprocessing. The result of the training process showed that the network can recognized 3 of 4 of target pattern and determined which character is zero and which one is not. |
