ESTIMATION OF LOAD AND HAUL EQUIPMENT NEEDS IN UNDERGROUND MINING DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES DEEP MILL LEVEL ZONE PT FREEPORT INDONESIA

Mining activities in underground mining DMLZ (Deep Mill Level Zone) is in production preparation stage (development) now and based on feasibility studies will start its production activities in 2015. Along with the increased activity progress DMLZ tunneling underground <br /> <br /> <br /> mine, the amount of material that must be moved is also increasing. With the increasing amount of material that must be transferred to the planning needs of both the loading equipment and the haul unit. Load and haul unit needs should be fit and optimal according to the level of progress of the mine. To overcome the excess and lack of equipment needs, equipment planning is necessary in accordance with the level of production, so with the appropriate amount of equipment is expected to provide benefits for the company. The number of equipment that exist at DMLZ mine now is 1 unit R1700 and 3 units of Trucks AD30. Based on calculations, DMLZ loading equipment needs for 2010 amounted to 2 units and for the year 2011 amounted to 3 units. DMLZ hauling equipment needs for 2010 amounted to 4 units and for the year 2011 amounted to 8 units. Therefore, it takes the addition of 2 units of loading equipment Elphinstone R1700 LHD and the addition of 5 unit haul equipment Elphinstone AD30 truck. The addition of the existing equipment is expected to accommodate the needs of the load and haul equipment DMLZ underground mine in the period 2010 to 2011.
