In an effort to maintain continuity of mine production in order to meet the processing capacity of about 220,000 – 250,000 tons per day, and to replace production capacity of the open pit mine that is expected to be finished in 2016, PT Freeport Indonesia continue to perform new development projects which during this period concentrated on the area of the underground mine. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> To support the implementation of the development projects, Department of Central Services Engineering (CSE) as the department who is responsible to perform design and engineering, shall produce projects drawings for the expansion projects with appropriate amount of drawings and finish on time, so that the smoothness of the implementation of expansion projects can be in accordance with the plan. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The methodology that is applied in preparing and analyzing the alternatives, is based on the observation of current drawings production methods, collecting future projects execution plan, and conduct interview to define the weight of the issues that influence drawings production, to enable the alternatives of drawings production improvements can be defined. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Considering the amount of existing resources, both from the availability of manpower, support equipment and the applied technology, this final project analyzed alternatives and strategies that can be done by CAD Designer CSE Group in an effort to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the production of engineering drawings so the number and quality of engineering drawings are met with the needs of PT Freeport Indonesia expansion projects, and for the future is projected to be able to provide an alternative to FCX in providing engineering drawings for FCX expansion projects in good quality, cheap and fast. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Based on several alternatives can be obtained: Adding labor either through the recruitment process or through the process of labor contracts. Performing Engineering Contract with the company implementing good design from Indonesia or outside Indonesia such as the United States and from Australia. Using advance technology to replace old technology through the purchase of new software. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> It was resulted that best method is to do a combination of all alternatives above with emphasizing the usage of new technology by purchasing new software and accompanied by applying a correct strategy that suits the project implementation plan.
