Summary: | Cyanuric Acid (CA) is an intermediate chemical product which is mostly used for synthesis of TCCA and its salts. These chemicals are well known as disinfectant, sanitizer, white cleaning, and herbicide which are safely used for environment. Now TCCA is used mostly in recycling (processing) water as biocide. This biocide is used to eliminate microorganism in water system, such as in cooling water, swimming pool, waste water processing. Java and Bali islands need more than 5 ton/months biocide. <br />
One of the purposes of this research is to study and to test the technology of producing CA from urea. TCCA is usually produced by CA hlorination. CA itself is produced by selective pyrolysis with urea as main material. This is very simple process. <br />
Another purpose of this research is to find the simplest and the most possible procedure to be done in laboratory. According to American patent document No.3.154.545 and No. 4.018.769, CA is synthesized via urea cyanurate, as intermediate product. This procedure is the most possible to be used in laboratory. Eliminating filtration of this procedure is found as the best process of CA synthesis. <br />
The result showed that document paten AS no. 4.018.769\' is the optimal procedure to synthesize TCCA, the yield is 89,476% and the purity 98,69%. <br />
