Description
Summary:Slope stability of open pit coal mines with overburden of mudstone is one of the concerns of the mine management to keep the mine operating safely. To anticipate landslide at mine slope, one of the method that we can use is monitoring the rock mass displacement or movement in the slope using time function to predict the collapse period. Long term shear strength parameters of mudstone such as cohesion and internal friction angle in laboratory scale can be obtained by comprehending the characteristics of creep behaviour of the mudstone samples. This research is conducted at Laboratory of Geomechanics and Mining Equipment ITB. The rock sample is mudstone from Bengalon SWD-2 area of PT. Kaltim Prima Coal in East Kalimantan. The samples in this research is two samples with the same shear surface area 19,200 mm2.

....
