Increased of population growth and lifestyle also affect the increasing demand for energy, in this case electricity. To meet this electricity demand, a renewable energy source such a water will be utilized. One of the utilization of water to generate electrical energy is by the development of Mini Hydro Power Plant (MHP). The MHP used a dammed flow and potential energy of water caused by high water fall which then be converted by mechanical and electrical components in the MHP system so it can generate electrical energy. <br /> <br /> <br /> Cirompang’s Weir is located on the Cirompang River, Garut Regency with 71.4 km2 watershed area. This weir with 35 meters width has a function to withhold the flow and divert it to the MHP system, hereinafter called PLTM Cirompang. PLTM Cirompang itself has a dependable discharge of 1.28 m3/s with maintenance flow of 0.8 m3/s. With the effective fall height of 138,956 meters, the PLTM Cirompang can generate power up to 1.48 MW where electricity is planned to be transmitted to the community in the Cihikeu Village, Bungbulang District, Garut regency. Meanwhile the discharge of 100-year flood return period is 500 m3/s. <br /> <br /> <br /> In addition to weirs, other important building components in a MHP system including intake, sand trap, headrace, forebay, penstock, power house, and tailrace. To maximize the potential of electricity, it is found that the design for the gate is equipped with 1 door with 2 meters width and the height of the door openings is 0.51 meters. The 31-meter-long sand trap is planned with a cross-sectional dimension of a trapezoidal-shaped channel, in which its basic width is 2 meters with a depth of 1.3 meters. And with a flow rate of 0.4 m2 / s expected to precipitate 0.2 mm diameter sediments. and a 4594 meter long headrace has a channel design with a square-shaped cross section of a square with 2 meters width and a 1.5 meter channel depth. The estimated cost required for the construction of PLTM Cirompang includes the components of the building such as intake, sand trap, and headrace is Rp 12.749.379.152,52 text
