Description
Summary:Generally, porous asphalt pavement is known as pavement that is able to solve the problems caused by rainwater. The probelms include hydroplanning phenomenon, splashes of water and headlight reflection. With Indonesia as one of high rainfall country, porous asphalt pavement expected to be a solution. Besides Indonesia, many Asian countries has developed porous asphalt pavement and one of them is Phillipines.

The objective of this study is to evaluate and compare the laboratory performance of porous asphalt mixture with gradation of Indonesia and gradation of

Phillipines. Performance of porous asphalt mixture with gradation of Indonesia and gradation of Phillipines obtained through Tests of Marshall, Asphalt Draindown, Cantabro Loss, Marshall Immersion, Permeability, Resilient Modulus and Permanent Deformation.

Gradation of Indonesia is good in structural terms of mixture as indicated by the results of resilient modulus and permanent deformation. Gradation of Indonesia

has more dense characteristc. Gradation of Phillipines is good in functional terms of mixture as indicated by the result of permeability. Gradation of Phillipines has

low density characteristic, high air voids and requires low asphalt amount, so the mixture with gradation of Phillipines more effective in passing the water.
