According to the <br /> <br /> <br /> condition, study of source rock is required for risk and prospect assesment of <br /> <br /> <br /> petroleum play in a region. Furthermore, study of source rock can be combined <br /> <br /> <br /> with brittleness index analysis to assess whether source rock can be presented as <br /> <br /> <br /> unconventional reservoir. This study is located at Jambi sub basin, Jambi Province. <br /> <br /> <br /> Based on Jambi sub basin petroleum system, source rock present in Lahat and <br /> <br /> <br /> Talangakar formation. The objective of this study is to identify source rock <br /> <br /> <br /> potention in Talangakar formation by integrating geochemical data, petrophysics <br /> <br /> <br /> analysis, and seismic inversion method. Desired mature source rock is zone with <br /> <br /> <br /> Total Organic Carbon (TOC) in good to excellent value (higher than 1%) and <br /> <br /> <br /> maximum temperature higher than 435OC and maturity index which is represented <br /> <br /> <br /> by vitrinite reflectance (%Ro) higher than 0.6% (Peter and Cassa, 1991). Based <br /> <br /> <br /> on geochemical analysis, Talangakar formation contains potential TOC value <br /> <br /> <br /> which ranged at 0.3%-2.14%, average Tmax above 435 OC, and %Ro range at 0.5- <br /> <br /> <br /> 1.21%. Petrophysic analysis shows that Talangakar has a high value trend of <br /> <br /> <br /> gamma-ray which is interpreted as impermeable shale. Increasing trend of <br /> <br /> <br /> resisitvity at Talangakar formation represents maturation process of organic <br /> <br /> <br /> matter (Morel, 1999). With seismic data and TOC value from Passey and <br /> <br /> <br /> Schmocker method calculation, the lateral distribution of TOC value along the <br /> <br /> <br /> seismic section can be obtained by correlating TOC value with acoustic impedance <br /> <br /> <br /> in Talangakar formation. From TOC and AI correlation, high TOC is corellated <br /> <br /> <br /> with low acoustic impedance value. This approach can be a good way to identify <br /> <br /> <br /> lateral distribution of source rock potential in seismic section. text |
