The fenolic fraction of the alkaloid extract yielded two compounds, namely a white crystalline, m.p. 120,5-122°C, as an yellow solid, m.p. 79-81°C. Based on the UV, 1H NMR, i3C NMR and mass spectra data, both compounds have been identified as N-methyl-1,9-dihidroxy-2,10-dimethoxyaporphine or isoboldine, and 1-reticuline. The non-alkaloid fraction also yielded a crystalline compound, m.p. 220-221°C, and structure elucidation of this compound is being continued. text
