| Summary: | A spectrophotodensitometric analysis of acetaminophen, salicylamide and glycerylguaiacolate in some anti influenza tablets has been carried out. The separation on silica gel plate with butyl acetate as mobile phase gave RfxlOO values of 25, 54 and 15 for each acetaminophen, salicylamide and glycerylguaiacolate respectively. The mean recovery for standard sample after extraction with ethanol 95% are 100.06% for acetaminophen, 99.63% for salicylamide and 99.83% for glycerylguaiacolate. Each tablets is found to be contained of 97.82- 102.69% of acetaminophen, 101.34-104.59% of salicylamide and 97.50-102.38% of glycerylguaiacolate with a coefficient of variation of 2.21%- 5.71%. |
