Description
Summary:Transparent air masks are indispensable for pilgrims when ihram activities. In this research, nata de coco was used as the basic material. Nata de coco is a safe material. Nata de coco was made of coconut water, acetic acid, ZA, sugar and bacteria Acetobacter xylinum which had been grown previously. Next direct drying method, blender method, blender+wringing method and Hot Press method was applied to manufacture of transparent air masks from nata de coco. To control the poro size was varied another method with the grated coconut, sandpaper and insertion naftalena. The transparency test has showed that nata de coco from Hot Press method has a higher transparency more than another method, were 87,5%. Based from SEM characterization, the highest porosity was obtained Nate de coco from Hot Press method with insertion naftalena.
