Description
Summary:The amplitude of the seismic wave shows an indicator of subsurface reflector. Seismic data with preserved amplitude is required for further seismic studies. Therefore, it is necessary that appropriate seismic data processing is done to generate preserved amplitude seismic data. Aki-Richards equation can show reflectors with preserved amplitude in each angle.

Seismic wave is bandlimited so that the assumption that the reflection in the interface as a point is not appropriate, but as a line in 2D or an area in 3D known as fresnel zone. Fresnel zone is the basic idea of common reflection surface (CRS) method.

In this study, seismic data processing is done using conventional Dip Moveout (DMO) and Common Reflection Surface (CRS) method to get Pre Stack Time Migration (PSTM) gather that will be followed by AVA analysis. Preserved amplitude evaluation is done by fitting the amplitude variations of seismic data processing result and Aki-Richards calculation.

AVA analysis using seismic data from CRS method has preserved amplitude better than DMO method. PSTM gather resulted from CRS method shows better reflector continuity and higher signal to noise ratio compared to the results of the DMO method, so it is good input for AVA analysis.
