The highest oil yield (53,10% based on dried bases) was achieved in the test with T66/F16/I41/I41/I41/I41/F16/F10 configurations, filter barrel type 2 (627 holes), at 25 rpm rotating speed, 75oC barrel temperature, 5 kg/jam seed rate, 5,53% moisture content, and filtrate filtration using vacuum filtration. The physicochemical characteristics of nyamplung oil after purification including acid number, saponification number, and iodine number have met the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Standard, while the viscosity is not yet eligible. Thus, nyamplung oil can be used as a fuel for diesel engines in outer islands if purified first and by adding a preheater on a diesel engine to decrease the viscosity. text |
