Banuwati Formation was deposited in deep lacustrine environment with black shale as source rock. Talang Akar Formation is divided to Zelda Member and Gita Member which mainly consist of sand with varied sand/shale ratio. Formations that were deposited after Talang Akar are grouped to Post-Talang Akar Formation. Asri Basin has 2 main faults on the east with north-south orientation, and on the south with east-west orientation. From seismic cross lines, there are a lot of normal faults on Talang Akar Formation that were caused by rifting process, and on Post-Talang Akar Formation which are interpreted to be caused by tectonic inversion and sagging. Geochemical analysis with n-alkane, sterane & triterpane biomarkers shows that oil from western flank of Asri Basin are from one family, formed by mixed organic material; algae and terrestrial material with deep lacustrine depositional environment. This shows positive correlation between oil and source rock from Banuwati Formation and was accumulated on the western flank after migration process. Lateral migration happens on shaly sandstone, and vertical migration happens on stacking sandstone, and also through faults on Talang Akar Formation. text |
