The Effect of Pre – Soaking Treatment with Gibberellic Acid and Heat Shock Treatment on Seed Dormancy Breaking in Sugar Palm Seeds (Arenga pinnata (Wurmb.) Merr.) Var. Genjah

Sugar palm (Arenga pinnata) comes from the family Arecaceae which has a high economic value. But, seed dormancy periods occurred quite long for approximately 6 – 12 months. Cause of the seed dormancy is the impermeability of the thick seed coat that makes water and oxygen is difficult to absorb....

Each treatment was repeated 6 times and each replication consisted 13 sugar palm seeds, total seeds used 234 seeds. Observation directed to growth of axis embryo length after 2 days.
