Its not only serves as a house of worship, the mosque also has other functions such as place of student’s activity. <br /> <br /> <br /> Located on the highest-level contour in the whole masterplan, the mosque has a beautiful view to the valley hills. Therefore, the design is trying to blend that beautiful view with the mosque itself to boost the worshipper focus during praying. <br /> <br /> <br /> Because of its secondary function as a place of student’s activity, then the design gives some open spaces that can be used together. Open spaces was chosen because of the cool weather of Batu lets people feel comfortable to do their activity outside building. <br /> <br /> <br /> The whole masterplan itself put the mosque in the area close to the main gate in the north side. Because of that, UIN Malang wants their mosque building to become iconic, so that its can greet the visitor like a second gate of the campus. Therefore, the mass concept made uniquely using the concept of Habluminallah and Habluminannas. <br /> <br /> <br /> This mosque mainly used concrete material, with exposed bricks as the interior, and louvre as facade. The louvre façade is repeated again in the building that visible from the main street of campus. So that the entire building seems similar. text
