Blind persons is one part of the disability in our community

who has limited access to transport facilities. Bandung city is currently one of the

smart city bearer, but the provision of these smart facilities is still concentrate to the

non-disability user. On the field of bus transportation, the bus stop do not have any

facility to support disables. For blind person, it is difficult to know the arrival and

identity of the bus coming.

Bus identification and notification system at bus stops for visually impaired based on

RF technology consists of 3 parts of equipment, namely bus equipment, bus stop

devices and blind devices. The bus stop device detects the arrival and identity of the

incoming bus and can be issued in the form of sound. The blind presence detection

system is implemented to help bus drivers know the blind presence at the bus stop in

the form of LCD display. Blind devices give notification to the blind in sound signal

whenever he entered the shelter area.

Based on testing, blind person was detected at a distance of 10 meters around bus

stop area while the bus began detected from a distance of more 60 meters at free area

and 10 meters for medium setting at actual simulation around the bus stop. The

arrival notification and bus identity are displayed in repetitive verbal form with a

delay of 10 seconds. text
