high flexibility and adaptability. Non-traditional layout can meet this requirement. This research deals with performance evaluation for two kinds of non-traditional layout, i.e fractal layout and distributed layout. This evaluation involves two stages.

In the first stage, static performance (the expected of total material handling cost) is used to design fractal and distributed layouts. In second stage, dynamic
performance is applied and developed a simulation model for a layout configuration designed in the first stage. Performance evaluation for fractal layout and distributed layout with simulation is done for several scenarios of demand (product mix and routing fluctuation).
