Summary:Hydrate and wax are going to be one of problem at oil and gas company along with the development of oil and gas production in the deep sea. Bigness of the cost which has to take if these problems are not taken care preventively has made the development of preventive way take care wax and hydrate problem itself. One of the way is by doing insulator installment for the pipe. This way has to be done as optimal as so that the design itself is not overprotective, and the cost will be more economist. <br /> <br /> <br /> This paper study about the method optimizes the use of insulator at a field. In this paper, the X Field, which one of offshore field with wax and hydrate potent, will be used as a study object. Insulator is optimized from its material, and its thickness by using the OLGA simulator. Wax curve and hydrate curve which are generated by using PVTsim are used as a success reference of the insulator installment, because they can predict when the wax and hydrate will be occurred for a fix pressure. And what is more, it is accounted the factors which are influenced to string out wax and hydrate such as GOR (Gas Oil Ratio) and Water cut.
