Summary: | Local franchising has been showing promising development lately in Indonesia. During 2008 until 2010, the turnover of this business has grown 19% per year in average. But unfortunely this growth should be one and a half greater if it compared to the number of labor employed in this business. This phenomenon shows the prospective franchisor does not consider important factors that influence the success of the franchise. Therfore, the research to identify the factors that influence the success of the franchisor was conducted. The method used in this research was cross tabulation, in order to determine the demographic characteristics that influence success. Meanwhile, factor analysis and multiple regressions were used to identify the franchisor's internal factors. The result shows that gender factor and parents' job as an entrepreneur affects the success of the franchisor. In addition, talent as internal factor has positive influence on the success of the franchisor. <br />
