However, patient’s adherence is affected by <br /> <br /> many factors such as health system factor, socioeconomic, patient-related, condition-related, and <br /> <br /> medication-related factors. The purposes of this study are to determine pregnant women’s adherence to <br /> <br /> iron supplementation and factors affecting it and to determine the correlation between adherence and <br /> <br /> occurrence of clinical manifestation of anemia. This study used observational cross-sectional study with <br /> <br /> concurrent data. Data from 105 subjects were taken from direct interview and from Mother and Baby <br /> <br /> book. Patient’s adherence was determined using Morisky-8 questionnaire. The result showed 76 patients <br /> <br /> (72.38%) have low adherence to therapy. The factors affecting adherence is knowledge (p = 0,021; r = <br /> <br /> 0,226) about therapy and 44 pregnant women (37,14%) have good knowledge about that. There is also <br /> <br /> correlation between patient’s adherence and occurrence of clinical manifestations of anemia (p = 0,026; <br /> <br /> r = -0,217). Hopefully this study would be a supporting study to educate women in general, for pregnant <br /> <br /> women and women who are preparing for pregnancy. <br /> text |
