Summary: |
Pollutant from the activities of the cement industry in the form of particulate matter and gaseous pollutants CO, SO2, and NOX are produced in large quantities per year. Pollutants released by stack of PT.X will spread to the surrounding area, therefore it is necessary to predict the spread of pollutants. Prediction of pollutant spreading in this study is using AERMOD software and it is consider to the condition of atmospheric stability in the region. AERMOD software uses meteorological data, data of contour area, the list of pollutant concentrations emitted by PT.X. Meteorological data was being processed by using AERMET which is one of program inside the AERMOD software, and to process the map of contour area, this study used AERMAP. This study was using two types of domain models, which are the large domain (radius 20 km) and small domain (radius 12 km ). Based on meteorological data, there are differences in the characteristics of the annual windrose, during the rainy season and dry season. Emissions are dispersed according to the wind direction and wind speed that occurred in the period, therefore for each period, it resulted different patterns of dispersion. Spread of pollutants from the predicted results, obtained concentration of pollutants yearly period was smaller than those of the seasonal period. The highest concentrations for the pollutants CO, NOx, SO2, and TSP respectively is 3.01 ug/m3, 3.03 ug/m3, 9.17 ug/m3, and 0.768 ug/m3. The prediction of pollutant concentrations are still below standard of ambient air quality standards contained in Peraturan Pemerintah No.41
