Summary: |
The development of Sadawarna and Cilame reservoir aims to meet various needs of water at Subang and Indramayu Residence. Among the water requirement is the need for irrigation water, domestic and urban water demand as well industrial water needs. The largest water requirement comes from the need for irrigation water where there are irrigation potential land which covers 30.000 ha that scattered in the downstream area of Subang and Indramayu Residence. In addition, increasing population and rapid industrial growth also needs to be considered. The development of Sadawarna and Cilame reservoir is a realization of the plan to exploit Cipunagara River with a catchment area covering 347 km2, while the development of Cilame reservoir is to exploit Cilame River (the tributary of the Cilamatan River) which has a catchment area covering 34 km2. The result of water balance simulation at the Cipunagara and Cilame watershed
show a trend of deficit on June, July, August, September, and October. The water requirement from the base year 2010 to 2035 projections for both domestic and urban water demand and industrial water needs can be fulfilled by
the availability of water from Sadawarna reservoir for nine districts and Cilame reservoir for one disctrict. But to the needs of irrigation water, Sadawarna and Cilame reservoir just can meet only 8.700 ha of potential irrigation land area of 30 000 ha in which 6.500 ha fulfilled by Sadawarna reservoir and 2.200 ha fulfilled by Cilame reservoir.
|
