Description
Summary:The well spacing problem is one that has plagued the oil industry for many years. How many well that will be drilled, and further drill for infill well; are certain thing that must be considered carefully, as it affects the value of well spacing to be used. Optimum spacing size is one factor that is needed in a hydrocarbon reservoir development phase and production well drilling plan. It aims to ensure that the field can produce according to target and generate maximum profits.

Surfactant flooding is a method in place to enhance oil recovery in the production of a reservoir. In general, surfactant flooding performed after water flooding or simultaneously with water flooding. Proper spacing size will maximize the performance of water flooding and surfactant flooding to enhance oil recovery factor.

In simple terms, the optimum well spacing is determined using the graph plots NPV vs. spacing. The plot is obtained through data generated from the production simulation using various spacing in a reservoir. In this study, a reseroir model built using ‘Eclipse’ simulator with Black Oil fluid type. With five variations of spacing, we could determine the optimal spacing that produce the maximum benefit in economic analysis.
