The condition of air pollution in Surabaya City became alarming because of the rapid growth of motor vehicles from year-to-year, in addition to air pollution arising from industrial sector. Studies of air pollution requires coordination of various disciplines one of them is meteorology that studies on atmospheric conditions. Indonesia, which is influenced by the monsoon circulation will cause the air pollutant dispersion pattern changed every six months due to the west monsoon (wet season) and the east monsoon (dry season) circulation. To study the pattern of air movement, WRF (Weather Research and Forecast) meso-scale meteorological modeling was used. The output <br /> <br /> from WRF models will be used as meteorological input data in Calpuff model. Emission inventory of multiple pollutants including Black Carbon (BC) and O3 precursor compounds which are CO, NOx, and VOC was conducted for emission input data in Calpuff model. BC and O3 is an air pollutant that is included in a strong SLCFs (Short-Lived Climate forcers). SLCFs is a chemical compound that has a short life span in the atmosphere but it is contributing to global warming and had a negative impact on human’s health and the environment. Simulation result shows that in the dry season the wind moves from the east in the afternoon to evening which will cause BC and O3 precursor compounds which are CO, NOx, and VOC air pollutants to move toward the west area of Surabaya City, while in the evening air pollutants will move eastward and then turn direction caused by the wind movement from the southeast toward the north and northwest of Surabaya City. In the wet season the wind moves from the northwest in the afternoon to evening which will cause air pollutants move to the southeast of Surabaya City, while at night until the morning air pollutants will move dominantly to the east of Surabaya City.<p align="justify"> text |
