Description
Summary:
Civil servants as public employees are required to always increase knowledge to be said competent. However, to be competent is not an easy thing to do. Lack of training due to budget constraints is one of the factors causing knowledge gaps among employees. The main focus of this research is to improve employee knowledge in civil service management and its relation to user intrinsic motivation through the application of proposed framework. Gamified microlearning method through mobile devices can be used as a solution to overcome the problems faced. This research adopted the methodology of Design Research Methodology (DRM) covering stages: 1) Research Clarification, 2) Descriptive Study I, 3) Prescriptive Study, and 4) Descriptive Study II. At the prescriptive study, the framework developed based on instructional design (ADDIE) with a combination of gamification framework (GOAL) and microlearning design principles to develop proposed framework. Furthermore, the framework is implemented in the gamified microlearning system. The evaluation involved 69 employees from all units. The statistical result test shows that the gamified microlearning design significantly increase the knowledge of employee by 78.66% with the enjoyment factor as the strongest predictor that influence behavioral intention to use and focused immersion besides the perceive usefulness and control.
