| Summary: | Hydraulic fracturing is done when a well start shows any decline of production fluid rate. Hydraulic fracturing is one of well stimulation method that works by fracturing the target zone (damaged zone). The damaged zone will be treated so the production fluid could flow from the reservoir to the wellbore properly. The fracturing is done by giving pressure to the formation from the fluid fulfilling the well. Then, proppant is flowed into the formation to keep the shape of fracture. The final step is flushing to assure the proppant have fulfilled the fracture properly. This hydraulic fracturing can be applied in the geothermal well which has different properties with hydrocarbon well. <br />

This study will discuss about the selection of fracturing material, especially the treatment fluids and proppant. Some type of treatment fluids and proppants will be chosen to be tested. Then, the simulation will be run using the materials selected in a geothermal well by using FracCADE 5.1. Furthermore, the dimension of fracture will be determined by using PKN & KGD model. |
