Summary: | Labuhan Angin Power Plant is a coal-fired power plant owned by PT PLN (Persero) and is one of the work units of PT PLN (Persero) North Sumatra Sector. Labuhan Angin Power Plant has two generating units with a capacity of each plant of 115 MW, but in its current operations the average capacity generated by the the power plant only reaches 56 MW for unit 1 due to the unstability of the coal supply. The particulate pollution control unit used by the power plant is an Electrostatic Precipitator that has a sensitive nature againts changes in operational conditions and characteristics of the exhaust gas, so that changes in coal quality and working capacity of the PLTU can affect ESP performance as the particulate control unit The recommendation proposed to improve the air pollution control system at The Labuhan Angin Power Plant is redesigning the particulate control system so that it is more flexible to control various characteristics of fly ash due to the fluctuative quality of coal with multicyclone as a pre-collector unit and baghouse filter (BHF) as the main control unit. The proposed design will have the total particulate efficiency of 99,979% and a particulate emission of 0,771 mg/Nm3. <br />
