Description
Summary:The scarcity of energy is starting to be felt so much higher in these days,

especially the scarcity of water and electricity. Those scarcity usually felt in an

urban city especially in a capitol city such as Jakarta. It’s because of the increasing

demand for water that related to the growth of its citizen, while the availability of

the water resources is not really increasing but actually is decreasing. So, we need

to maintain the water resources balance by using a kind of reservoir as a storage

when the scarcity happen. One of the solution is building a dam which will be

explained in this study.

The method used in this study are (1) hydrological analysis, (2) discharge

modelling calculation, (3) dam design, and (4) budget calculation. There are four

conclusion we got based on the result, those are (1) volume capacity of the dam that

available to be used is 4,102 m3 each year, (2) the dam is able to provide 0,557 m3/s

discharge to fulfil the raw water needs of Leihitu’s people until 2067 (50 years from

now), (3) the dam can produce 32,77 kW of minimum electricity each month, and

1478,63 kW of electricity around the year, and also (4) based on those demands,

the dam should be 45 meters height and 237 meters largest width, and the materials

used to fill the earth dam is core clay and rockfill of andesite.
