PT KDL owns the old 400 MW steam power plant which was first operated in 1978 and was last operated in 2015. Since 2015 PT KDL has operated a new 120 MW Combine Cycle Power Plant but the plant was not operation in 2016 due to damage of steam turbine because of reverse power. The number of problems faced such as the age of old equipment, the low reliability of electricity supply, the company's revenue decreased, demand decreased, and the index of customer satisfaction also decreased to be the problems that must be resolved soon. This is in line with the company's vision of becoming a reliable and competitive energy provider in Indonesia. <br /> <br /> The root cause of the problem is sought by mind mapping method by interviewing various respondents representing all stakeholders plus the company's performance data for the last 5 years by comparing with the existing standard values. The solution of the problem is PT KDL needs to make management changes by applying World Class Maintenance Management standard and Total Productive Maintenance where the improvement of all problems above must involve all divisions in PT KDL not only in maintenance division. Improvements start from the improvement of the quality of the employees, the replacement of the old main equipment, preventive and predictive maintenance proactively, spare parts management in terms of spare parts availability and cost control, implement life cycle management that regulates maintenance costs for long-term goals, build integration of information system for maintenance, operations, logistics, finance and human resources, increasing sales of services, negotiating the selling price of electricity to PT KS and the purchase price of gas to PT Perusahaan Gas Negara and building a new coal power plant 1x150 MW to make the selling price more competitive. text
