The business issue in this Final Project is more focused on the distribution business. Distribution business is more preferable as its profit is bigger than the warehousing business, however, there are more problems happen in the distribution business which had made significant increase of operating cost. As the matter of fact, the profit earned by PT. BGR (Persero) Bandung fluctuate. With such circumstances, it is expected that there will be a proposed business strategy and logistics for PT. BGR (Persero) Bandung. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> This Final Project divides the analysis into internal analysis and external analysis. For external, the analysis employs PESTEL, competitor analysis, industry analysis, and customer analysis. From the two analyses it can be concluded that PT. BGR (Persero) Bandung has advantages as one of the state-owned company, has a good relationship with vendor and customers, and has a strategic location for doing business in West Java. As for weakness, PT. BGR (Persero) Bandung has a shortage in Human Resources and technology. Furthermore, the existence of MEA may tighten business competition. In addition, PT. BGR (Persero) Bandung has not found the vendor of trucking as it envisages. After conducting internal and external analysis, the root of the problem was examined using ishikawa diagram. It can be concluded that PT. BGR (Persero) Bandung needs development on its logistics business and its operations. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> SWOT and TOWS are composed as a proposed strategy of operation and logistics. The proposal was made using the Beckman & Risenfield strategy. The strategy divides logistics strategies into infrastructural and structural. Proposals for infrastructure and structural for PT. is highly interconnected with technology enhancement. Technological improvements are made by creating programs for vendors, customers, and internal companies. These step makes it easy for PT. BGR (Persero) Bandung to monitor the work process, facilitate vendors and customers for transactions or complaints faster. In addition, improvement of strategy also occurs in the organizational structure. PT. BGR (Persero) Bandung had better divide the marketing division into two focuses: warehousing and distribution. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The implementation time of the strategy may take four years. The first phase might come in the form of brainstorming, for the second phase is accelerating resources of companies and vendors by means of strict selection. For the third phase is launching the program. For the fourth phase, making certain that the program created will be run in accordance with the compliance rules.
