Mycorrhiza increased growth in the stems, roots and dry weight of the sunflower significantly. Sunflower uptake on134Cs radioactivity is 50% largeron mycorrhizal infected sunflower. However, transfer factor value in mycorrhizal infected sunflowerdid not increase and it appears that mycorrhiza inhibits the translocation of 134Cs from root to shoot because the value of its translocation factor is significantly smaller than the non-mycorrhizal treatment. The time taken to achieve the MDC (1 Bq/kg soil) of soil concentration by mycorrhizal treatment is 28 years 11 months 2 weeks, without mycorrhiza 29 years 6 months 3 weeks and with decay only 30 years 9 months text
