Summary: | Human Gait Analysis is study about human walking motion. The output is to find ground reaction force (GRF) and centre of pressure (COP). A force platform is usually used to find GRF and COP. Force platform uses load cell as its load sensor. The pattern of human balance need to be known, so that tri-axial load cell is considered better to be used than the single-axial. There is load cell in series YGX 952 on market, but the unit price is too expensive. The role of tri-axial load cell is considered very important in measurement, so that the manufacturing of tri-axial load cell is necessary to be the final project topic.

Making load cell begins with designing process. Load cell design refers to series YGX 952. After that, loading simulation is performed on ANSYS software to determine the material that is able to withstand the maximum stress that appears without being deformed. Afterwards, materials and components are purchased then followed by manufacturing. Thereafter, load cell testing is carried out with real loading using Tensilon machine. The test results are then processed and analysed in order to be read correctly according to the value and direction of the load.

The test results show that load cell is able to measure force in each axis with small error. Those making process of tri-axial load cell is expected to be a reference in the production of affordable load cells as a component of the force plates. |
