Description
Summary:Crude and gas pipelines are one of the main supporting facilities for production operation in PT. Chevron Pacific Indonesia. The pipeline is used to delivery crude oil production from gathering stations to storage tank for subsequent loading to Pertamina’s refinery in Dumai, while gas pipelines are used to distribute own gas production and purchased gas from third party, to power and steam generator stations.

The integrity of the pipeline system is become an emerging issue, due to the aging pipelines as well as the increased level of safety and environmental risk when the pipeline leak occurs. Pipeline maintenance had been done and successfully maintained the rate of failure, but with the current situation of production declining and lower price of oil commodity, a better pipeline maintenance program and strategy is needed.

Development of pipeline maintenance program and prioritization is performed by using risk assessment method and risk screening for acceptable level risk. The proposed program and prioritization also consider analysis results of internal and external factors that directly related and root causes of problems.

The implementation plan of maintenance program and prioritization will be set forth in the company’s annual program and to be reviewed in every end of year for the effectiveness by establishing leading and lagging indicator as targets to be achieved.
