Population increase causing the need for settlement rise and changing of land usage. Absorbing the diminished in upstream areas would cause some problems such as flooding. Considering that most of the sub-district baleendah is a lowland, overcapacity drainage system makes the possibility of run-off due to flood water that cannot be conducted well. Flooding that often occurs in Cieunteung is backwater flooding from citarum river whose entering the cigado river. An effective way solution is making retention pond. This study attempts to plan and analyze the influence of making retention ponds to handle flood in Cieunteung Village located in Baleendah sub-district, Bandung. The Retention Pond is the pond water used to reduce flooding from the river. The analysis was conducted by hydrology analysis with the data rainfall of St Cibeureum , St Bojongsoang, St Paseh and St Cisondari from the year 2002 to 2014. Having acquired discharge rain plan, the analysis was conducted by hydraulics analysis uses software HEC-RAS to analyze capacity drainage and planned volume existing of pond retention. The design of pond retention is planning a capacity, pump operations and maintenance, and construction cost .after analysis was undertaken, obtained the discharge rain plans for 25 years is 41.01 m3/seconds. Retention Pond Volume is 272.971 m3.The construction cost needed in making the retention is Rp 155,324,5894,718.00. Based on analysis undertaken, concluded that making pond retention effective to become one of the alternative efforts flood control in urban areas. <br />
