Description
Summary:The number of population increases over time. At the same time, technology has advanced to a point where most of our data is stored as digital data. Due to the increasing amount of people and digital data, speed become more important. One example is the use of Electronic Identity Card (e-KTP), specifically fingerprint in Indonesia. Identification can take a lot of time for a large amount of people. Thus, there is a need for optimization in fingerprint identification. One of the possibility of optimizing fingerprint identification is through indexing. This paper proposes an optimization for fingerprint indexing, based on Minutia Cylinder Code representation, using GPU. Indexing performance optimization is done by using a parallel codes on the two steps of indexing, creating and searching. The program uses both CPU and GPU through NVIDIA CUDA.
