Description
Summary:
Ciliwung River is the river that has potential function for Indonesian people’s daily needs especially in Bogor, Depok and Jakarta. However, the river is being polluted everyday by domestic, non-domestic, and agriculture. Therefore, in this study, the river was divided into 6 segments and being selected to specifically focus on segment 4 to simulate for water quality parameters such as DO and BOD by using HEC-RAS version 4.1. Pollution sources in this area is mainly polluted by domestic factor which give result of amount of pollutant load of 10213.72 Kg/d of BOD. BOD parameter is in quality standards established for Class IV which is 9-11 mg/l. However, amount of DO is just slightly decreasing at the end of the middle part of the segment and still in Class II of the standard of water quality. Because of this heavy polluting of BOD which is from domestic waste, communal system is the most effective and efficient system to reduce BOD up to 6 mg / l in certain period of years to come. As for 2035, with addition of a communal system and domestic wastewater treatment, it will be able to reduce BOD pollutant load to quality standards of Class III.
