Other than that, the working load of the runway, taxiway, and apron is 10 kN/m2 and 7 kN/m2 pavement load for runway and taxiway, while apron is 15 kN/m2. This construction will be built on a soil very thick layers of clay. Clay soil tend to have a big consolidation degree coefficient. Therefore, improvement of soil is needed to fasten the time of consolidation. Analysis result shows that the most optimal method to mitigate the problem on this construction is prefabricate vertical drain and preloading. <br /> <br /> The consolidation with soil in it’s natural state will be done about 200 years. So, the improvement of soil neccesery in this case. The improvement used here is preloading and prefabricated vertical drain. With the use of preloading, the load impacted on the soil will be bigger, therefore the consolidation rate needed can be done faster. This improvement is supported by the use of PVD that shorten the drainage way so the pore pressure will be dissipated faster. <br /> <br /> This designing process will use manual calculation and then compared to Plaxis 2D software with Mohr-Coulomb type as the model. <br /> <br /> After the embankment design is completed, proceed with the pile foundation planning along with the supporting elements, such as pile cap, pedestal, pile head treatment, and tie beam. <br /> <br /> The designing process of foundation and its supporting elements will use manual calculation and software, such as LPILE and GROUP PILE. <p align="justify"> text
