Summary: | From year to year, population of Bandung City has increased. Population growth among others are derived from students who come from outside bandung, tourists, and job seekers. Unfortunately, the growth of motor vehicles is much higher than the growth of road infrastructure. The impacts is area coverage of congestion in urban roads is growing. This study aims to evaluate the performance of signalized intersection that used advaced stopline (ASL) by existing traffic conditions and future traffic using microsimulation. Traffic management scenarios are not using ASL, addition of ASL length dimension, addition of one lane approach, and green resetting phase. All these scenarios are compared to get the best. Microsimulation use PTV VISSIM 9.007 software. The result of a ASL scenario shows that its presence can improve the performance of the intersections, which is to lower the average delay and increase the percentage of the volume of vehicles that can be serviced. Specific stop length variations show the longer dimension it makes the intersection performance decrease. This is because motorcycles require more space when stopping at the intersection. The addition of lane approach shows can improve the performance of the intersection. And green phase time resetting is the most optimal way to improve crossing performance compared to previous scenarios. Taking into account costs that are less comparable to performance improvements, the best scenario is to reset the green signal time. The addition of ASL length is not aligned because when the off peak condition, if not many motorcycles entering ASL its only create additional delays of intersection for vehicle except motorcycle. |
