In addition to the equipments, <br /> <br /> environmental factors also take part in consideration of the design process. <br /> <br /> Nowadays, offshore oil & gas industry is focused into deepwater environment which has different character <br /> <br /> compared to the shallow sea. Temperature variations, narrower pore pressure & fracture gradient windows, <br /> <br /> hydrate formation, and the Shallow Water Flow & Shallow Gas potential, are become challenges in determining <br /> <br /> well control equipment design and appropriate methods. Another concern is the equipments that affect the <br /> <br /> design, which are the use of floating drilling rig with Dynamic Positioning (DP) system and Subsea Blow Out <br /> <br /> Preventer (BOP) on the sea floor. <br /> <br /> Referring to the above explanation, this study is focused on making a practical reference in designing the well <br /> <br /> control system, consisting of the most appropriate well control’s equipment and methods in deepwater <br /> <br /> environment. By comparing the results of the literature study to the field case studies, a further understanding to <br /> <br /> make modification for specific case in the field can be achieved. text |
